Cave Dinner
This tour is the ultimate geo-adventure tour in Iceland!
Our two-in-one activity tour combines lava-tubing with dry suit snorkling/diving in the beautiful Silfra lava fissure.
This exciting day trip gets you up-close and personal with two of the most unique geological features of this little volcanic island of ours in the North.
The Silfra lava fissure has become world renowned for its stunning beauty, unparalelled underwater landscape and chrystal clear 1000 year old lava-filtered glacial melt-water!
In addition, Silfra is the center piece in the Thingvellir rift-valley which separates the North-American continental plate from the Eurasian one.
As such it offers the once in a lifetime opportunity to snorkel between the two continents!
Indeed, Silfra epitomises the reasons why the rift-valley was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 2004!
Our guides are all accredited and experienced diving and snorkling guides.**
Lava tubing refers to the exploration of one of the many tube-like caves hidden right under our feet in the vast fields of hardened lava that cover much of Iceland.
Untouched for thousands of years, these hidden gems offer an experience that is at once exhilirating and awe-inspiring as you witness in close proximity some of the most weird and wonderful rock formations found on Earth.
Our guides will show you lava formations that words cannot even begin to describe.
Indeed, we guarantee that YOU WILL BE AMAZED by the display of colors, shapes and textures this underground landscape has to offer.
Who would have thought that some of the most colourful landscape on Earth is under ground?
In addition, known to some as the habitat of trolls and elves, these mysterious, dark places have for centuries inspired Icelandic folklore and fairy tales which our guides are always more than happy to share with you.
Equipped with the necessary caving gear (high quality light, helmet and gloves) you will embark on the adventure of a lifetime as you descend into a fascinating underworld like no other.
This activity tour will offer you both fun-filled adventures and moments of profound serenity in two wildly different, but equally alien, environments about as far removed from the hustle and bustle of every-day life as you can get!
