Caving In Iceland

An Underground Adventure

Lava tubing – a form of caving – refers to the exploration of tube-like caves hidden right under our feet in the vast fields of ancient lava that cover much of Iceland. Untouched for thousands of years, these hidden gems offer an experience that is at once exhilarating and awe-inspiring as you witness up-close some of the most weird and wonderful rock formations found on Earth.

You will be amazed by the display of colours, shapes and textures. Who would have thought that some of the most colourful landscape on Earth is under ground?

In addition, known to some as the habitat of trolls and elves, these mysterious, dark places have for centuries inspired Icelandic folklore and fairy tales which our guides are always more than happy to share with you.

Equipped with the necessary caving gear (high quality light, helmet and gloves) you will embark on the adventure of a lifetime as you descend into a fascinating underworld like no other.

This tour will offer you both a fun-filled adventure and moments of profound serenity in an alien environment about as far removed from the hustle and bustle of every-day life as you can get!

Cave.is, in collaboration with Iceland Expeditions, offers several different caving/lava tubing tours that meet our strict criteria of safety first, combined with high quality gear and fun-loving knowledgeable guides.

Leiðarendi
